I hope the 50th anniversary brings an all analog vinyl from original master tapes. If any tinkering is done they compare to an original UK -2/-1 to match the sound.

Edit - black inner sleeve included!

People said that about White Album and Pepper. I'll say what I said then, you can keep the original, I'll take the remix :)

This is the same forum where a thread brought up the idea of making mono the norm again and actually had a ton of serious replies in agreement.

So there's bound to be someone asking for a mono mix...

How is it awful? Without it assembling all of the dozens of singles not on albums would be a bloody nightmare.
Also, Octopuses is a better song than Ballad ;)

Looking at the bootlegged material it's unlikely that we get more than 2 cds with sessions.

Actually I think some of the people that joined the WA thread early are now moving here because that thread gets a bit boring.

Most started as separate songs so there will be demos and rehearsels.

If they stick to Pepper & WA anniversary schedules, we should see Abbey Road 50 next September! So the wait will be lot shorter compared to WA50.

I think it will be similar to Pepper i.e. 4 discs (3CD + Blu) with new stereo/surround remixes and two discs of demos/outtakes. The few Abbey Road outtakes on Anthology never really got me excited like the 67-68 stuff & so I am hoping Giles can deliver some interesting pieces on this set.

It was also the band working efficient to finish one final record. The question is if there is much material available that differs significantly from the end result.

So true - back in the early days of boots (Backtrack, Past Masters), I was surprised how much there was from Please Please Me and With The Beatles.

Then figured there would be a ton from Abbey Road because they were on top and the tapes would be rolling 24/7 (and be kept) for their many, many takes.

So I was very disappointed in the dearth of material from that album when I was expecting so much more.

Damn their efficiency at the end!

These old sessions were different. The was played at once (except for some overdubs), did the song several times and choose the best version.
