What would you say was an actors last great film?

No Country For Old Men

 

Bruce Willis-Death Wish

 

John Wayne - Brannigan

 

Anthony Michael Hall ~ Sixteen Candles

 

I took this literally, as in the actor died or stopped working... i.e. no chance of another great film. On that note...

River Phoenix - My Own Private Idaho

 

Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight

I also took it a bit literally. On the other hand it was his best role.

 

I was going to disagree but then took a look at the 137 Willis movie titles released since then on Netflix and Prime Video and realized you were right.

 

I know...Bruce never came back after that one.: (It seems he took that one seriously...did a great job...

 

I'm talking TV here; The Dead Zone...Hall was fabulous in this...we did not want it to end...went 6 Seasons.

But...but what about ' The Intern'? Or ' War With Grandpa'?

 

Michael Biehn in Tombstone. Love the guy, but man he's just not gotten good roles.

Bill Paxton in Frailty. As much as I loved Club Dread, not a great movie.

 

Martin Sheen-Apocalypse Now

 

Peter Sellers - Being There

 

Haven't seen those, but are they considered GREAT like these:

Casino (1 Oscar nomination)
Taxi Driver (nominated for 4 Oscars)
Goodfellas (nominated for 6 Oscars)
The Deer Hunter (nominated for 9 Oscars)

3 of those 4 are considered some of the greatest movies ever made. I thought I was being generous going with Casino instead of Goodfellas
