LOL. I hope her decline is only temporary, though I wasn't all that thrilled with 25 either. I really love 19 & 21.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread so I don't know if this info has been talked about: but Amazon has the RTI version. I got my replacement and I immediately assumed it was RTI because of how perfectly flat (and almost clean) it was. It was confirmed by looking at discogs. Funny thing is my first copy that I returned (which I didn't realize was also an RTI copy) was so badly scuffed up that I assumed it was from MPO.

This album is growing on me, but I do think some of the lyrics appear to be about how hard done by she feels she has been, being too young for the choices she has made etc, but isn’t that a part of growing up, haven’t we all been through this, going through this, you adapt and accept. That is what adult hood is, you learn and grow. But I guess this is the way Adele writes, from the heart and how she is feeling at the time of writing.

My go to song at the moment is “I Drink Wine” her vocal range is simply marvellous and I think she could probably sing the phone book and make it sound fabulous.

  6. Decline, what decline? 30 is easily the equal of anything she's done before.

Totally agree, it is actually my favourite of all she has done and a beautiful audiophile quality pressing too (in the LTD edition Clear Vinyl)

Does that include the trite lyrics e.g. ''I'll be taking flowers to the cemetery of my heart''?

Has she refunded everyone from when she canned her Vegas residency a few days before because she broke up with her boyfriend?

Her singing is so very good…I’m ignoring the diss comments on this thread.

I did not enjoy much of the songwriting. I feel that 19 & 25 are much better.

I'll wait for 40. Maybe she does a cover of that U2 song. :D

Just noticed 30 is currently at #97 on the US Top 200 charts. That fell fast!

Does anyone think she’ll reschedule those Vegas gigs now? Seems to have all gone quiet!

Last I heard was that she was saying goodbye to the album by taking flowers to the cemetery of her heart.
Apparently she’s so happy these days that she’s decided a complete change of direction is in order, she is thinking of releasing an album of cover versions of novelty and disco songs

Propably not, because 19 did not have cover of Paul Hardcastle’s 19. :D

I for one would welcome a change from her usual misery to an uplifting soul and disco album! In the rocking vein of "Rolling in the deep", maybe some Gloria Gaynor, Aretha, Diana Ross, Donna Summer etc.

You know, songs you would actually play at a party.

The upcoming Hyde London shows will give her bit of a media bump about 20 days from now.

Assuming Vegas isn't rebooked, she's likely all but blacklisted from doing any future residency in a Casino. Adele may not care.

Yeah, the Hyde Park thing will be an even bigger deal since she bailed on the casino.

I don't think she's blacklisted from anything though. Way too much money involved. Any casino would book her in a heartbeat right now. (Although certainly insurance policies and all the lawyer-y stuff would probably shift a bit in the casino's favor. On the other hand she's had a bit of a history with health issues sidelining tour dates, not to mention the last two years of the concert industry in general, so presumably this was factored in to the original arrangement)

Let's hope she doesn't cancel and gets blacklisted home in London too then...

For anyone interested who has not yet purchased the vinyl of Adele's 30 (or just wants an extra copy), it's currently in the Blowout Bin at DeepDiscount.com for $12.67 (!)

For anyone who has never dealt with DeepDiscount, I order from them all the time, and I have never once received anything in less than pristine condition, unlike some online ordering services (cough - Amazon - cough).

So, if you're interested, here's the link. Act fast though, because this may not last long:

    This from theticketingbusiness.com:

"Adele fans have until mid-February to claim their refund for tickets to the singer’s cancelled Las Vegas residency, according to reports."

Later on, the article mentions that Adele has promised to reschedule all dates for anyone wanting to hold their tickets.

    Seems fair to me.

I mean, she could have done what I've other performers have done in the past under similar circumstances:

    1. Detach emotionally from the performances, and sleepwalk through each set, devoid of any energy or enthusiasm (Dylan).
    2. Get s--t-faced drunk/high and give a performance so bad that fans want their money back, anyway (Steven Tyler).
    3. Cry through the entire set (I don't remember who did this, but it wasn't pretty).

Given the circumstances, I think that she did the most mature, thoughtful, and considerate thing she could do, given the situation. She didn't think that she was capable, in that mindstate, of giving 100% to her fans (and this is an artist who has gone to great lengths to show her appreciation for her fans), so she cancelled. Good on her. YMMV.

A couple of reasons for that:

    1. With the current economic issues many are facing due to rising costs of goods, services, and fuel (please, let's not turn this into a political discussion), people cut back on entertainment-related expenses.

    2. She was roundly criticized (although she probably had very little to do with the decision) for pressing an astounding number of copies of the album in advance, monopolizing the already beleaguered pressing plants. So, there are a LOT of these in circulation.

    3. The album has already been out for awhile, and sales just naturally decline after a certain point.

All of this creates a perfect storm for a previously big-selling album hitting the bargain bins. I just hope some people get some joy out of getting this record for such a great price. YMMV.

Walmarts in the US can't get rid of them. Keep in mind it's WM eating it, not the label.
