If you're referring to Derek, I heartily disagree. That was a great show, as is After Life, which nods a bit to Derek and The Office.

Gervais did a screening in NYC last week of the first two episodes, and he implied he'd liked to do another season. And why wouldn't he, haha, Netflix pays well and gives him total creative control. He was hilarious and great in person and I've enjoyed the episodes I've seen so far. I like that overall it's not overlong; too many shows these days and too little time, it feels like everything goes on forever and it takes me months to get through a show. This one is neat and tidy and not hard to finish out.

    I enjoyed the series......but I couldn't get over those gawdawful sweat-pant things
that Gervais was wearing. I would definitely end it all if I had to wear those.

Uniform of the overweight more like. I speak with some experience.

More Ricky Gervais is great as far as I’m concerned, but the show wrapped up really well. I’ll be interested to see where they take it next. Ricky with his cute “Extras” friend awkwardly dating? Okay, I’d watch that.

Nope. Uniform of the depressed. He clearly used it as a device to help show/embody the emotional state of the character. He wore the same clothes everyday too, also the uniform of the depressed.

So, I qualify as depressed and overweight. Good to know.

I couldn't stand Derek, I forced myself to watch three of those and there wasn't anything at all to make me want to continue.
After Life even though the first few episodes were really depressing--and I wasn't sure that I really wanted to watch a whole series that made me feel that way--the characters and story lines were so well done it compelled me to keep continuing. So glad I did, because it just kept getting better and better. What a fantastic cast. They all did a great job, even the dog was impressive.

I guess I was in the wrong mood the other night. I tried again tonight, finishing the first and going straight through the second episode. It is much better than I first thought. Thanks.

Great show and a big surprise for me, as I am not too keen on Gervais work of the past with few exceptions. Watched it all in one sitting and it felt like one 3 hour movie.

It's a very easy watch wasn't it. I watched it over 2 nights but could have done it over one session.

    Great series.

I watched it all in one evening and thought it was really great. Emotionally it was all over the place and sometimes hard to watch, but in the end I found it very therapeutic.

I thought it was a great script and well played by the excellent cast. Ricky has a way of making human emotion believable - good or bad - in the characters he writes.

A dream-cast of fine actors/comedians and a well-told and funny/touching story. If they'd stopped the series ONE episode earlier it would have been perfect, in my opinion.

I watched the trailer & it seemed to have almost Deadwood levels of swearing. Is it that pronounced in the actual show? I don't care personally but my wife isn't crazy about it.
