Gervais is unquestionably my favorite comedian and his TV work is brilliant (excluding “Derek”), but his movies are mostly not well formed in terms of ideas or just flat bad. It’s somewhat baffling, but that’s what I’ve observed.

His taste in music is pretty stellar as well, IMO.

I love RG, and loved the first season, but was disappointed by the second season. Seemed like a weak copy of season 1. Hope they can rebound for season 3, but I'm concerned that the story line might've run it's course.

Agree. If it’s just more regurgitation from the first season, I’ll pass on the new one (and, like you, I love Gervais).

Gervais is great. I thought Derek was fantastic. Brilliant comedy. Afterlife is good, the office is great, Extras is good.

Gervais pasty face doesn’t quite look right in an American location. But .. his humour shines through. :)

Watched the first couple of episodes of the new series last night. More of the same but relentless sex orientated jokes from many of the characters, which are funny but Gervais seems obsessed by fornication, testicles, masturbation,...
He said on The Graham Norton Show the other night that the series has been translated into about 160 different languages!

Solid last season, binged it yesterday. Have to say though, as much as I enjoyed it, I expected a bit more.

Stopped watching during S2 because it's too repetitive. I got tired of the routine.

I still watch but I’m almost done also. I love Gervais and he always has some great folks supporting him but this really was a one season show for him it seems. The first season was fantastic but 2 was a weaker retread and so far through only 2 episodes for me 3 is the same everything but even more tired. I watch usually before bed because it doesn’t require much of me so I’ll continue to see where it all goes and hopefully I’ll be surprised with an upswing.

I have very mixed feelings about S3. I still love so much about the show in its entirety, and I still think every part of S3 centered around Gervais was great. But the sections based only around the supporting characters were much weaker this time. They almost seemed to be written by someone else as filler to pad out the run-times, because all of the heart/soul/wit was pretty much missing from those sections. But the main sections with Tony in them were still as compelling for me as ever. I missed Sandy not being a part of S3 though.

My only issue with S3 is all of those convenient coincidences in the finale. It just wasn't believable.

I very much enjoyed season 3, as I did the prior 2. Lots of great humor, though I found the last episode to be depressing as hell.

But I can’t figure out who is doing the cover of Both Sides Now at the end. Online keeps saying it’s Joni, but that’s not her. Anyone know? I thought it was a great rendition.
