Beatles - Love Songs ^^^^ This. The best Beatles compilation ever, at least for me. Many days where those songs, in that order, from that beautiful gatefold LP with that lyrics insert, are one of the very most comforting things that life can provide, music-related or not

Today its Grant Green live at club Mozambique. Weird that my Lonnie Smith album is from the same club too.
After I had a day, be it a good one or a not so good one, I sit down with my wife. And we talk about the days we had. Doing this we usually listen to stuff she likes and that calms her (Stax, Solomon Burke, Calexico, Willy deVille, Latin, Country and many other excellent stuff...). When I want to listen to Captain Beefheart, Hüsker Dü, Nomeansno and the Melvins etc I wait until she is asleep.
Depends on the day and the circumstances. I remember that every time I took an exam successfully, I celebrated by blasting Never Mind The Bollocks. If I feel down or mildly sick, Enya rescues my mood. If angry, I choose Slipknot or Darkthrone. When contemplative, Alan Parsons Project. Insightful, Jethro Tull. Cerebral, Yes. Hopeless, Pink Floyd. Sad, Siouxsie (mid period, from AKITDreamhouse to Peepshow. Euphoric, the rest of SATB's discography (esp Superstition for a lighter mode, or early or live stuff for a heavier, more aggro mood)
It funny how some people just can't go with the deeper dig out there stuff and other just want to get their wig out on!
Returning Jesus by No-Man or any early Belle and Sebastian The instrumental break in this song simply sends me to another world - timeless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT0grH_H-_M
It all depends on my mood. There is no strict list of albums to listen to to unwind. Certain music or albums should not be forced to you. Listening comes naturally.
