Folks, now is the time to buy old vinyl.

There are GREAT deals (like the above) out there. People are clearing out their old and outdated ;) LP's all the time. Good deals are EVERYWHERE.

    Go to it!

No churchladys, just a regular old Goodwill in the Heartland of America, Lafayette, Indiana.

Hey ashe, what took you to Lafayette? Are you a Boilermaker? Look up my brother fivecent at University Bookstore in West Lafayette. I miss being near campus because college students are always selling stuff like records and discs for beer, and ahem, unmentionable experimental items...

Think you'll find that's a UK pressing. The INTS-xxxx reissues came out in the UK circa 1980/81.

Have you seen the picture with the bulldozer landfilling MFSL Lps?

    Horrible!

My guess is that after ebay, these dumpings of Lps are not common.

Oh, ashe, there's another guy at the Vinyl Asylum that got a deal just like yours! :righton:

Pretty sure this is my Ziggy as well, although it's definately a German product from the markings on the label. Might have the c-c-c-check that.

It is hard to find a home for that many 78's these days. Such a shame.

That's right! It's a great, CHEAP way to discover things you missed the first time around. But, you gotta hurry, because some things are getting scarce! Pretty soon, the best place to find things will be other collectors who make CD-Rs.

No way man. I just got a turntable last week and I am just loving it. Especially if you have any kind of vinyl collection that's just sitting around, you won't believe how good it sounds. Go for it, it beats spending the money on bad CD remasters!

Oh, just do it all Lps, Cds, SACDs, there's always something not available on one medium or another!

I went out yesterday and bought the SACD of "Thriller" because Steve said it was a flat transfer. I don't even have an SACD player yet. I also bought the special edition CD version and while the treble is still zippy, it sounds MUCH better than the LP or regular CD.

Anyway, The only thing i'm missing is a reel-to-reel, SACD, and a minidisc. I like to have the ability to play anything that comes along.
