Grant Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me!

I never liked that A&M label.

Same. Incredibly boring. I always loved the 70's version myself. 'Course, the ochre is classic.

The only thing I know about William Salter is that he collaborated with Grover Washington Jr. and Ralph McDonald.

That Marlin label was beautiful, too!

It's a very interesting record. He has a decent voice but nothing spectacular. The songs are there though. I've always liked "You". He does that one with Gwen Guthrie.

One of these days i'll have to hunt for it unless it's available as a lossless download.

There isn't a lossless download out there but there is an import CD that can be had for about 20 bucks. The LPs I'm finding are roughly the same price and my LP sounds unusually good for the normally cost-cutting T.K. Incidentally, T.K., while they could be chintzy in so many ways (Juana, Drive, Clouds, and Marlin being used for tax reasons chiefly), got the vinyl right often - especially the 12-inches of anything I ever heard from them.

And, RCA produced some fantastic-sounding vinyl in the 80s. 45s too! I wish their CDs had sounded as good.

I just now noticed that they duplicated the "diana" back cover.

If i'm not mistaken, the original CD cover had no words on it.

That Arista label is awful, obviously done by someone with no imagination. I was disappointed when I bought an Outkast album. And it was way off-center, too.

Very nice rendering. That whole inner sleeve and label looks like it came straight outta the 80s.

It was the last and least imaginative Arista label. Didn't know about the CD as I've never had it. I bought the LP and played it when I wanted to hear it. It sounds really good sonically so no need for the CD. It's a little desperate but it's good desperation for the most part. The only parts that are weird are when he tries to force curse words. He was like a slightly less awkward Janet when he curses.

It really is! I've got it and I need to scan it. That's such a riot. I have to hand it to Diana on her album covers. The team around her at RCA knew how to make those albums pop off the racks. The "Ross" record is one of my favorites of all time. The unity of concept on the whole thing down to the labels is just incredible.
