Everything Modern Dad has posted is true. What you choose to believe is completely up to you.

Addendum - is true in the mind of Modern Dad.
We have discounted the "there are no good albums" myth. You are beaten by weight of numbers :)

the point isn't that there aren't great albums still being made..... . its that much fewer people care and even fewer seem to want to consume them as albums.....

    Attention span issues.
The majority are battling to focus on a whole song, never mind an album.

I agree that is a big part of it... People are now on their phones all the time...

  11. Pity the sound of streamed music is awful and relies on an internet connection which can change speeds, especially on the go. I'll stick to CDs and ripped CDs.

That's right friends, Poe said it 121 years before Marvin Gaye said it. In other words trust no one.

Not unless you consider around $20 an LP high prices. Do you? I don't. And given that I won't be selling them, bit of a moot point.

Sarcasm didn’t come through I guess... don’t plan on selling mine either. But very rarely have I spent $2o on an lp. Pretty much all, even used have been more than that. $30-$50
Range on average. Compared to a $8 download, that is quite a bit difference per album. But free or cheap streaming is what most are doing anyways, so the price differential is even greater

I've noticed with my own posts that sarcasm is somewhat harder to convey on web forums. Try being facetious instead. Comes across much easier.

That's just paranoid. Let it have free reign in the house, move around a bit, and you two will get along just fine.

We must listen to different styles of music, I guess. I bought four new releases yesterday afternoon: Sharon Van Etten, Deerhunter, Steve Gunn and Malibu Ken. $81 including tax.
