Vince heading to studio in Nashville studio to record today. Wish the band was doing it together not separately
Vince looks better there than several recent photos I've seen. Cutting back on the sauce and losing about 50lbs would do wonders for his health though.
It won't be a surprise if the new songs are self referential like the lyrics on Saints of Los Angeles. But still that can get old really fast and with a song title like 'The Dirt' it lessens my enthusiasm a bit. I know the songs are soundtrack related to a movie about their earliest days but I'd like them to be able to stand on their own. I cringe at the idea of lyrics like.... fight at the Whiskey peed in a cop car window a night in jail swinging a chain over my head Lita hocked her car for bail We all presume (me included) that Bob Rock being involved will give these songs a sonic leg up and feature pounding drums. Which if you think about it would be odd; if you want the lyrics to evoke 1982 why have the drums sound like they never did at that time? Honestly though, although I can't say I have any excitement or expectations for these songs I'm looking forward to hearing them all the same. It doesn't give me the best feeling to know (or at least assume) that Nikki, Tommy and Bob Rock wrote and recorded the songs and then sent them out for Mick and Vince to re-create the guitar and vocal that was on the demo. Actually this creative method would be great because I always saw Nikki as the main creative force. But whereas in the past the other guys were close enough (and work schedules were tight enough) that everyone got to put their playing stamp on the final product, in this case I get the sense that Mick in particular will just be re-recording some riffs as opposed to putting his own spin on Nikki's chord changes.
It would have been great if they could have done it like the old days. Gte everyone together, demo and then record oh well
I have zero interest in these new songs. And I consider myself a huge Motley Crue fan for 35 years. I’d rather they released archive releases.
Mars recorded his guitar parts the 20th and 21st according to Sixx Also Sixx: AM has been updating tjeir facebook page so might see some stuff their EH
Turn him sideways....I don't think he lost all of that gut in 2 weeks but yeah eliminating the booze, cutting back the sugar, processed foods and getting some real exercise can do wonders.
There’s a limited edition of John Corabi’s Live 94 album on vinyl at Rat Pack records. Just bought a copy. Probably the closest I will get from a vinyl version of the MC94 album.
All kidding aside, I pray Vince finds health and happiness. He is a really nice guy and has contributed to a bunch of songs that were the soundtrack to my youth. I want nothing but the best for him.
Vince just announced he saw the Dirt movie (he liked it, duh) and that it will be coming out in March 2019
I'll mention that Amazon has many Motley Crue albums involved in an lp promotion. You buy one lp get the other at 25 percent off. The first album is in there too.
"Kickstart My Heart" was the first and last of that kind of song I can take. It's going to feel like parody if the band is recording songs that tell the story of the band for the soundtrack to a movie which tells the story of the band. I'm already hearing a cheesy chorus like "It's all fun and games, til someone gets dirt" in my head. Ozzy snorting ants, off the sidewalk Tommy steers the buss, with his…
Too Fast For Love through Dr. Feelgood were the soundtrack to my teenage years and I still listen to them regularly. Saints Of Los Angeles is OK but nothing great. The rest I can do without. Not really looking forward to the film or any new music but I might get the book which I haven't read yet. I did have a blast at the one and only concert that saw them for their farewell.
