"50-year history"? I thought the band ended in 2014, or at least with the passing of Gregg in 2017?

Yeah, and I am saying that there is digital availability, and maybe if you sub to Qobuz, it will show up. Like you, I have every track here in hi-def except of course for the unreleased few. The packaging looks nice, but at that price I will pass.

Bought this recently, just listened to it tonight, and my God, worst vinyl quality I've owned. Skips, jumps, deep cuts (and not the good kind) on just side 1. No way I'm playing the other three sides. Complaint and return to the seller in the morning. Abysmal quality.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. I see a ton of thread with complains about vinyl lately, I wonder if the quality of the vinyl pressing since the "resurgence" is simply lesser or if there's another problem.

ive thought this for awhile. There’s only so many plants and they’re operating 24/7 to pump our gimmick colored vinyl and pointless RSD singles. :shake:

Thanks both for your thoughts. I have to say that this is an exception to the rule, or at least as it pertains to my experience. The vast amount of albums I've bought recently have been fine, but the coloured vinyl Eat A Peach was bad. I've only played Side 1, but see no reason to pursue the rest of the album. I have the 2CD deluxe set from a few years back which sound terrific.

I've bought - new - in recent weeks/months a bunch of albums and the pressings are really very good, so I think it's fair to say I have confidence in the general quality. Too many memories of slightly dodgy 80s pressings on less than great vinyl. Just listening to the 3LP Honk from the Stones and it's *very* good indeed.

At this point I only get reissues of 70's/80's albums if I know it comes from a reputable label or I've confirmed it's a solid pressing from here or others who've bought it. I mean, I could probably get a nice vintage pressing of Eat a Peach for $20-25 or so without worrying about new pressing defects, and at least I'd know it's all analog. Obviously it's a different matter for 60's LP's or later albums that didn't sell much at the time (like, say, Big Star or something), but just a general rule for myself.

I really love the sound on the 2021 ABB Atlanta Pop Festival CD release. It is stellar! I hadn't heard the prior releases wondering if it is the same as earlier versions.

I would like to know as well. I didn’t hear it was going to be remastered.

As far as I know it was a reissue of the prior release no upgrades or changes made.

I ordered that colored Eat a Peach that UDiscover did a couple years back too and the sound is awful. It’s the first time I can remember emailing a company about it. The sound was like a bad dubbed cassette

I did complain at the time and they sent out a replacement. The issue was with surface noise and clicks rather than the sound quality, which, on the replacement was fine.

Heard "Blind Love" on the radio today.
How often does that occur....? :righton:

I’m glad I didn’t track that one down. I was almost deciding to pull the trigger for an easy purchase.

I went with this one instead:
The Allman Brothers Band – Eat A Peach
    Label: Capricorn Records – CAP 67 501, Capricorn Records – 2 CP 0102
    Format:
2 x Vinyl, LP, Album, Repress
    Country: Germany
    Released: 1973
    Genre: Rock, Blues
    Style: Blues Rock, Southern Rock

    NM (vinyl looks unplayed)/VG+ $31.94

It’s such a wonderful album and a fitting tribute to Duane.
