I pre-ordered the John Prine Crooked Piece Of Time box which is officially released today and was shipped yesterday by JB. Public holiday today though so expect it should arrive tomorrow or Monday.

As a side note, Amazon AU listed same item for pre-order and, surprise surprise, now saying they don't have it in stock.

 

Yep, that's why I stopped pre-ordering from them!

On another side note, I have two Amazon orders placed this month, the first back on Oct 3, everything was regular CD stock, both orders appeared on my 'transactions pending' list on my credit card last week, which usually means that Amazon are about to post, but since then the transactions have disappeared from my card and the estimated delivery date has been pushed back by a fortnight - it's like they literally went to the shelf to pack the order and then realised that some items weren't in stock!

 

I noticed a few titles I ordered last weekend have only just shipped. Seems to be a bit slow down there at the warehouse!!

 

My orders generally ship 7 days after I order them, but I currently have one on 21 days and another on 14, with no sign of shipment. Early Christmas rush?

 

Post Prime Day congestion I reckon.

 

I just find their shipping totally unpredictable. Some records arrive next day, others sit on the order list for one or two weeks then sit in an Australia Post depot for another 2 week holiday. Dog biscuits, cat food and chips, much quicker and usually by courier! I haven’t tried ordering their booze in case they’re a: too slow, b: packed to guarantee breakage or c: too efficient.

 

I did order booze. Took a couple of days, well packed in thick bubblewrap sleeves.
