This reminds me of the Elvis Vegas 1969 set - all of the concerts recorded at a single Vegas run. I just can't imagine sitting through an almost identical set list, and stage banter, disc after disc... I guess I'm not a big enough fan!
I totally understand where you're coming from but there is something about Dylan's 1966 tour that is very compelling. The audiences are, at times, hostile, Dylan is clearly on drugs, the songs themselves are works in progress and the band is just unrehearsed enough to be brilliantly improvised. It's a great set.
I have the Chinese version of this box set, think I paid $60 for it on eBay , and I have to admit I don't play much- the mood rarely hits me to listen to Bob live in Stockholm in '66 via a dodgy audience tape. But I agree with Big Swifty - some of the CDs make for essential listening
Grabbed this, thanks. There are still good prices out there clearly. These are pressed at optimal, I will only have to wait 2-3 months for it...
I know I have said it before , but Amazon's marketing never fails to amaze me . Their latest email : "Check out these fantastic deals we picked just for you, based on your activity on Amazon.com.au." What shows up? Watches, cameras, baby monitors, pencils and handbags - items I have never searched for on Amazon.
