I don't know whether they've already been mentioned, but I turn to the Norwegian/Irish duo Secret Garden for my atmospheric/relaxation music.

it is one hell of an album , right ?

first name that comes to mind are orb live circa 1993 but still not the same thing as they don't have that calm, serene, beatless element of 30.7.94

however i will tell you to check out this one , it's Sir Paul (of the Beatles) with the Orb engineer aka Youth

very nice mellow and peaceful album , give it a try (full album playlist at the link below)

I'm kind of new to ambient music, but my favorite so far is Chuck Johnson's "Balsams" (don't think it's been mentioned yet in the thread). Gorgeous pedal steel ambience.

well , if you like RDOTUM then this one will be right up your alley

These sound kinda Sun Electric-ish to me:

    [IMG] [IMG]

Assembly Of Honey - Music For Internal Use / Music For External Use -- got the long drawn out pads, deep bass, and Frippish noises, maybe not as rhythmic as 30.7.94 but maybe more of a companion piece? Both are "Name Yer Price" lossless downloads from Bandcamp.

Very soothing, Geoff. 30.7.94 reminds me more of these two these David Sylvian + Holger Czukay wonders

It's my favorite ambient album and helped get me through a pretty rough patch in life.

This is a wonderful dark find, proedros - thanks. Listened first as background (day off, getting to chores) but thought it requires headphones & attention - an unearthed gem.

Some info here, though without references/sources.
