Very cool about the house guest part, I own all the AMC stuff but none of marks solo, though I like mr ferryman lip a lo ( streaming) and love his cover of Anne Murray’s Canadian hit “ snow bird”
I had the chance to catch the band at Lee’s Palace in Toronto on the Golden Age tour. That was the only time i’ve Seen them live, I think your pal did great work on that release
It is easy to love Mercury - it is a personal favourite but there is gold on every release of theirs. I too love Blue and Grey shirt, gratitude walks etc, but don’t overlook tunes like “What holds the world together” and “ the sleeping beauty” so many great tunes.
It's been more than two and half years since you announced this. Is this still going to happen or should we forget about it?
Interesting post by Mr Eitzel on instagram today. Hopefully something will come of it. Ok - can’t post the photo for some reason from my iphone. It’s a pic of AMC master tapes from the first four albums. His instagram is mrleztie.
Umm, I sent a pm to akmonday on 12/5 and he got right back to me (he said he doesn't pay attention to alerts). Said he would follow up with Mark.......could this be.....nyahhh, can't be.
This could be something exciting! I think it would be wise to move those tapes away from the guitar amplifiers however. Magnetic tape and speakers does not a good combination make.
Eitzel is doing a solo acoustic US living room tour this April & May. Very intimate shows. GO! Undertow Shows — Mark Eitzel
Geography did for AMC in the end - with Vudi in LA and Mark in SF they couldn't make it work on the budgets they had. That's my understanding of the situation, anyway.
Ah, L.A., not SF. My bad. Honestly, I'm just glad they had the opportunity to make those two reunion records. Surprisingly good.
Mercury is in my Top 10 records of all time, just genius. I think Froom helped put those amazing songs in a unique sonic space
Thank you so much for posting this here. Turns out he's playing in my zip code in Maryland, so I ordered tickets for me and my wife. I will not disclose the exact location (to honor the policy and intent of this tour), but I was thrilled to see that it's at a local business that I have been to countless times.
i saw mark just a few years ago at a club that was one where they served food too and had regulars etc. i was one of 2 or 3 in the standing audience for that show. it was the same with freedy johnston. it's been hard times for the soul survivors. it looks like this tour has some engineering involved, going to be better planned.
I saw Golden Age tour stop in Toronto at Lee's Palace years ago, great show. any chance Mark is coming to Canada this time around?
