    So many...but here's one:

    Harold Land - Choma (Burn)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky0qFWZYfI0

People who have heard of Harold Land usually know him only for his work with Clifford Brown in the 50s...this album is a far cry from that and is for lovers of 1970s funky/free/cosmic/soul/jazz/groove/whatever-you-wanna-call-it.

In fact, check my "Harold Land appreciation thread"...link in signature below.

Incredible mellow psych band from Sweden. Found out about them right here on this forum, but still don't see much about them at all. Well worth checking out.

Oh man, that's a great one.

I wish more people knew every Waterboys album, but I think the world would be a better place if more people could at least hear Chief Waterboy Mike Scott's beautiful first solo album.

Another Stereolab album. An even more obscure album by an already obscure band - Aluminum Tunes. A fascinating and sprawling two hour journey.

Okay, I know this is my 3rd pick, but I can't believe I almost forgot this:

This would definitely appeal to a lot of people here...do yourself a favor and check out the YouTube clips. This CD didn't leave my player for about a year when it came out. Can't believe more people don't know about this album. Absolutely brilliant.

Well, I came across them via fairly favourable to very high ratings on RYM, but I rarely see them, or in many cases their artist for that matter, discussed, and they're the kind that cause me to think "I just can't believe so many people are missing out on all this great music":

Any of Brian Eno's 70s albums
    Can - Ege Bamyasi
    Faust - IV
    Wire - 154
    Doves - Lost Souls
    Rufus Wainwright - Poses
    Madvillain - Madvillainy
PJ Harvey - White Chalk (completely overshadowed by most of her 90s albums, Stories from the City etc and Let England Shake)
Muse - HAARP - their studio albums (notably Absolution and Origin of Symmetry) get talked about enough, but very rarely this one, which shows just how much a force Muse were on stage
Bill Callahan - Sometimes I Wish We Were an Eagle
Joanna Newsom - her first and last albums

And much of Chick Corea's ECM work definitely warrants more attention, particularly his more classical stuff for solo/chamber ensembles, such as the Children's Songs, Septet (for French horn, flute, piano and string quartet) and especially the beautiful Lyric Suite for Sextet with Gary Burton.

For me, this is better than any of the Bird And The Bee albums.

"Let Her Dance" alone, is worth owning this record. IFTL is here and so is "Julie" which could have been a smash.
