This is one of the few DCC titles still readily available via one or both of the cd clubs, probably the source of these sealed discs the seller has listed. I also don't get why the DCC Zombies cd would be particularly desirable given the existence of the Audio Fidelity hybrid disc. Then again, some people seem to want the CCR golds even though Steve has remastered them for hybrid SACD's.

The title is misleading, as is the "rare" status in the text. But otherwise, no mention of it being a gold disc. Guess I've seen a lot worse deception in some recent auctions.

I would not buy this CD anyway. It's not STUNNING!!!! :D

I too wouldn't call this misleading as to the disc being a gold CD. It only says:

"Zombies Rare Gold Nuggets LP on DCC CD SEALED"

"Award: - Earned RIAA certified gold album status in 1969"

"Be sure and take a moment to check our other rare "OUT OF PRINT" Gold MASTERSOUND / DCC / MFSL eBay postings......."

This CD can also be found used on Amazon.com for less than $6. The only thing that's misleading is calling this CD "Extremely Difficult To Find".

After having this seller being flippant/uncaring for one of our own when confronted by a problem, I do not recommend them.

Not Misleading? Make no mistake about it, his intention is clearly to mislead those people who on first look would think this was a gold CD.

OK try these from the same seller:

    There are others.....

I had seen that a couple of forum members had won his auctions - I put this out here because I wanted everyone to be careful when it comes to this seller.....

"Just remember- there is no guessing the TRUE condition of these recordings- this is factory sealed"

I just LOVE the wording of that! But then again- look at the guys feedback number. He's gotta be doing something right.

Sure, if you call labeling everything as a gold LP when in fact most have never earned gold record status and with-holding feedback until he gets yours, something right.

No forum members should buy from him. I emailed him once about his deceptive advertising and it had no effect. Let's vote with our feet folks.

Calling it "gold nuggets" is keyword spamming - those who search for gold CD will get this in results. Another d_____bag.

    Well, here I go:

Me and Jimmy go way back. I have done stuff with him for years thru eBay and then again on the side. For what it's worth I have always found him to be a good guy; friendly and easy to work with.

Yes he seems to sell the same stuff and his wording could definitely stand to be more accurate. For the most part I think it's all cut and paste stuff from old auctions. I don't think he's out there trying to hose people.
Of course I could be wrong. I have certainly been wrong before on eBay.

I would happily get in contact with him on behalf of this thread. Thing is he's no dummy and knows I have been a member here for a while and that there's lots of potential customers are here as well. That alone may provoke him to offer up some explanations or concessions. Don't know but if you guys want, I'll e-mail the guy and maybe he'll log on.

    Hit me back
    Peace-
    Normmmmm

I personally don't find it that deceptive, except for the word nugget. Even the part about being hard to find. Heck I got a copy of the white album up on ebay right now that states "Direct Metal Mastered from a Digitally Remastered Original Tape, to give the **best possible sound quality**." This is printed on the album. To most of us we would might say hogwash. Somebody might go to his grave thinking this is the cats meow.

    my 2 cents

    Hi Dave,
Like I said- I didn't drill down into his individual feedbacks, but with over 1000 I wouldn't think he would be out and out lying- stretching the truth maybe:D

You know as well as I do- it is many times up to the buyer to ASK QUESTIONs First!!! I can understand that many of us here know what may and may NOT be100% correct(ala The Wall UDII), and I can see where some of his descriptions might slant a bid a certain way- especially for those who aren't aware of what is available. You still must ask questions.

I am not sticking up for the guy by any means- but there are a LOT WORSE sellers out there.
