After watching Jason and the Argonauts I got to thinking how much I used to enjoy cheesy Hercules movies as a kid. There always seemed to be one showing after school and they were great escapist fun. So I went on Amazon and ordered several DVD sets.

The first one is called Warriors and includes the following movies on 13 DVDs:
    • Ali Baba and the Seven Saracens
    • Atlas in the Land of the Cyclops
    • The Avenger
    • Caesar the Conqueror
    • Cleopatra s Daughter
    • Colossus and the Amazon Queen
    • Colossus and the Headhunters
    • The Conqueror of the Orient
    • Damon and Pythias
    • David and Goliath
    • Duel of Champions
    • Fire Monsters Against the Son of Hercules
    • Fury of Achilles
    • Fury of Hercules
    • The Giant of Marathon
    • The Giants of Rome
    • The Giants of Thessaly
    • Gladiators of Rome
    • Goliath and the Dragon
    • Goliath and the Sins of Babylon
    • Hercules against the Barbarians
    • Hercules against the Mongols
    • Hercules against the Moon Men
    • Hercules and the Captive Wome
    • Hercules and the Masked Rider
    • Hercules and the Princess of Troy
    • Hercules and the Tyrants of Babylon
    • Hercules Unchained
    • Hero of Rome
    • Herod the Great
    • Kindar the Invulnerable
    • The Last of the Vikings
    • Maciste in King Solomon s Mines
    • Mole Men Against the Son of Hercules
    • Queen of the Amazons
    • Romulus and the Sabines
    • Samson and the Seven Miracles of the World
    • Son of Hercules in the Land of Darkness,
    • Son of Samson
    • Spartacus and the Ten Gladiators
    • The Ten Gladiators
    • Thor and the Amazon Women
    • Triumph of the Son of Hercules
    • Two Gladiators
    • Ulysses against the Son of Hercules
    • Ursus in the Land of Fire
    • Ursus in the Valley of the Lions
    • Vengeance of Ursus
    • Vulcan, Son of Jupiter
    • The White Warrior

Another is called the Hercules Collection and includes:
MOLE MEN AGAINST THE SON OF HERCULES
    HERCULES THE AVENGER
    HERCULES AND THE BLACK PIRATE
    HERCULES AND THE CAPTIVE WOMEN
    HERCULES, PRISONER OF EVIL
HERCULES AND THE PRINCESS OF TROY
ATLAS IN THE LAND OF THE CYCLOPS
    GIANTS OF ROME

I also got a disc that has the Steve Reeves classics in Widescreen- Hercules and Hercules Unchained.

One of the sets arrived yesterday and includes:
    The Loves of Hercules (1960)
The Trojan Horse, featuring Steve Reeves (1961)
Medusa Against The Son of Hercules (1962)
    The Conquest of Mycenae (1963)
    The Triumph of Hercules (1964)
Hercules Against The Sons of the Sun (1964)

I watched The Triumph of Hercules last night and really enjoyed it. The Amazon reviews indicate the PQ on some of the movies is pretty bad, but that doesn't bother me.

Any other fans here? What are your favorites?

First I thought of...Bill Murray as an older and overweight Steve Reeves (from SNL).
    The "dubbing" is hilarious....

I would love to see an updated version of-Samson And Delilah, the one from[1949]with Victor Mature is a bit dated,so how bout it Hollywood?

My favorite gladiator flick is The Arena, starring the great Pam Grier.
