Jim Duggan just told us Lanny Poffo has passed away. Not seeing it elsewhere yet, but sad news.

I only saw Lanny in person once, wrestling Harley Race at a local ballpark in 1986. It was a great card. I was only 10, but I still vividly remember Lanny losing the match after Harley moved out of the way of a moonsault.

He was very funny as The Genius. It was always a riot to see someone clobber him while he was in that cap and gown.

I'm sorry to see another of the WWF legends we grew up with leave us too soon. Cherish these guys while you can.

I was at the Saturday Night's Main Event where Hogan & Warrior teamed up vs Mr. Perfect & The Genius.

The Hogan/Genius SNME was one of the more entertaining televised matches of that season ('89-'90) for the WWF.

Jesse the Body got in one of my all-time favorite one-liners. Genius did that backwards somersault (or whatever it is called) into the ring at the start, and then a few minutes later when he had to re-enter the ring, he did it again and Vince on commentary muttered, "oh my," and Jesse retorted with, "I'd like to see you try that." That kills me every time.

    Anyway, R.I.P. Lanny Poffo.

Poffo's work in Memphis in 84-85 with his brother vs Lawler and the Rock & Roll Express is probably his best in ring work on tape.

Some footage of their own ICW promotion exists, but too bad there isn't more of young Randy and Lanny out there.

Wow. Poor Lanny. Too young. This is the last Wrestling RIP I expected to see. Poffo seemed so healthy and well adjusted. Sad news. I so enjoyed hearing his candid and always entertaining and good natured recollections and musings.

Anything WWE is doing right now with the Bloodline right now is on fire.

This segment with Reigns and Zayn was great.

Isn't the stuff with Reigns and Zayn all for naught? Reigns/Rhodes is set for WM and they aren't gonna take the belt off Reigns before then, so the Reigns/Zayn storyline seems like filler before the WM match.

Won't stop the crowd in Montreal from going ballistic. Should be shades of ... whatever that PPV was with the heel Hart Foundation as baby faces vs. Austin and the baby faces as heels in Calgary.
