Apparently "Here Comes the Sun" is the most popular Beatles song with millennials. Huh?!?

"You're not listening to the superior mono version"
    - Younger people listen to the stereo version as a foldown to their BT speaker. So it's now mono.

"....that's not what I meant! Damn kids!"

Being a young person myself, and being around other people my age, this seems to ring true. Queen seem to be more popular with the youth of today than The Beatles, in my experience.

Good point. But at least when you were in junior high, there was some emotion towards him, even if it was disdain. To my generation, he was nothing more than a footnote, bar a little resurgence circa the Forrest Gump movie.

If I had Spotify I would SOOOOO...block that from being seen, in case we were having a patio party, and a guitar player showed up for a hootenanny. Wouldn't want to give my wife any ideas.

That said, yes, it's sorta kinda perfect. Good job. (a big deep on the Macca, but you are a member here...)

I think the whole "all over the place musically" thing endears Queen a little more to younger people. Same with David Bowie, same with Prince. These are artists who never confined themselves to one sound, and I think given that people under-35 or so grew up with a more musical hodgepodge and seem to place higher regard for those who did the same.

Don't Stop Me Now is one of the most loved Queen songs, it barely made a splash when it was released. Stairway to Heaven wasn't even released as a single but is one of the most enduring rock songs.
    History is the great equalizer.

Funny, I associate a certain sound and look to Prince. A sameness.

I’ve never really met someone my age (not on the web) that really expressed adoration for The Beatles, but I’ve met plenty who fawn over Queen, or at the very least, love Bohemian Rhapsody (the song).

    Again, not a fan myself.

I was a teen when Forrest Gump came out, Elvis was not "hip". There was regard for Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, but I don't recall anything with Elvis. The media even tried to make Elvis "hip" again with the A Little Less Conversation remix and it didn't really change minds.

But you can't deny the popularity of the song I mentioned before I've seen so much "I hate Elvis, I love Can't Help Falling In Love" sentiments from 20-somethings, and the stream numbers prove it.
