One thing that you can say for Dafoe, he is always making movies. You never know what type of movie that he will be in next or what type of character he will play.

He has never been an actor to put money first and only appear in movies that pay him a lot of money. He puts his rolls first. I give him a lot of credit for that. There are not many other actors that will do such a wide range of movies and for such a wide pay scale.

A few years back in 2017, Dafoe did a movie here called The Florida Project, where he played a manage of a "value" motel near to Disney property.

It was shot on a budget of 2M! Dafoe was excellent in character, as always!

Fair point but I think the real test will come after the whole Avengers thing is over. People got the fever right now but fads never last.

I was also a little taken aback at how utterly mediocre Captain Marvel was. I know it's all about the girl power, but without that element, I'm not sure it would have been that popular. That was Marvel on auto-pilot for me. I mean the cat was the best part of the movie.

I'm pulling for them though, believe me, and I do know that they aren't making these movies for me. :magoo:

Yeah The Avengers : Infinity was way better + it had a cape.

They really pushed the "girl power" thing.

    Yea, Go Goose!

Maybe I'll get the Goose T-Shirt?

Interesting. While it is hard to argue with success, I am burned out on the Star Wars thing.

    Overexposure. Solo tanked.

Will this happen with the Marvel Universe?

I just watched it again last night in 3D with my pani 55 inch tv and it's a beautiful movie to look at. The 3D was great.
I'm gonna say I liked it and so did the wife. I don't expect much out of these comic book movies acting wise. Mostly if
it looks good and isn't boring I'm happy. It's a carnival ride like all the rest of them. Get the 3D if you can, I had to
purchase from Amazon.de, all is well. :)

Was toying with just getting the dvd, maybe plump for the 3D BD. Feel sorry for those that missed out on buying a 3D tv, stopped making them...still get the 3D discs though.

Yes, I just watched it and it was not good. Worst Marvel is better?

  13. Eh, it has its moments. Certainly better than some of the other DCU films. Still think the best of the DCUfilms are Wonder Woman and Shazam.

  14. I ejoyed it quite much, somuch to get it on UHD BD.

Wonder Woman the best by far for me.

It was a snooze yes but still not bad for such a lame character. The entire time I wondered if they shampooed and conditioned daily due to all that salt water.

I just can’t watch these DC or Marvel movies anymore.
Haven’t seen one I liked in a very long time.
Maybe I’m too old, don’t think these movies are made for me anyway

And I used to think space robots transforming into Honda Civics was the stupidest thing. Bearded mermen who have lived in the oceans for thousands of years wear knights armor while heaving tridents or shooting lasers. Aquaman wears pants and shoes in the water but no shirt. Plus he doesn't swim in any fashion. He is just some CGI torpedo.

Tapped out on this one halfway through. My eyes rolling constantly was very tiring.

I read Aquaman for decades but it wasn't until I saw him in the movies that I realized, he doesn't SWIM thru the water, much like Supes flies thru the air, Aquaman 'flies' thru the water!

But yeah, horrible movie, DC's answer to Thor being played for laughs. Like just about EVERY DC movie character, there's SO much unrealized potential.
