They should include Yoko Ono and the plastic Ono band as a bonus

Hmm, I am guessing this could another compilation to celebrate the 80th birthday? Lennon’s Instagram account did say there would be a few different things so hopefully there is POB to come later!

Yes I know we knew about the book, I pre-ordered when it first appeared on Amazon U,K. That “marker” is still there with no artwork etc but the edition with the link I included has suddenly appeared as well...which seems strange?

I hope this other release isn’t another bloody “best of “ compilation. How many do we need :(

I don’t think we do but the 80th birthday marketing angle gives Universal an opportunity to market a new compilation to try bring in new fans, especially on the streaming services. The last one was in 2010 and so it’s been a decade. If it helps bring John’s music to more people, I am all for that....as long as they release POB50 next :)

I don’t remember seeing those pics or at least most of those pics from the POB sessions that are shown on the amazon link so hopefully the book has more unseen photos

I would have to think there will be at least one tribute album.

I might be out of touch here, but are tribute albums still a thing? Back in the 90’s it seemed like they were all the rage but now I can’t recall the last time I heard about one (aside from occasional cover mounted CDs from Mojo & Uncut).

Anniversary of the album is in December, anyway.

The "other thing" could come out on John's birthday.

The 'not very exciting' thing could be a vinyl reissue of one of the innumerable John Lennon hits packages. But which one?

The John Lennon Collection as the artwork is from the day he died? So an anniversary release.

I think they are more likely to tie it with his birthday especially since the books release date is so close to it. Besides the Imagine box set came out the week of his birthday even though the original album was released in September and that set wasn’t a 50th anniversary release at all, off by at least 3 years!

I see Victor Spinetti in one of the photos taken at the art gallery.

And Allen Klein pops up in a few from the studio photos. It's weird, but John/Yoko still sort of liked Klein even after all the trouble he caused and after they finished suing each other. They admired each other, regardless of the business aspects, in a strange way. So I guess that Yoko didn't mind having Klein appear in photos in the book.

While not very much news going on right now, but from what I have heard.........My guess is no Lennon box this year. Not going to get specific as to why I feel that way

Might be a little licence problem (or maybe not). Wasn't the Classic Albums series released on Eagle Vision?

this was still a few years before they got wise to Kleins whole game though isn't it? Not surprised to see Klein there myself, since they have no problem including pics of Phil Spector :D

Somehow it makes sense, both albums flow well together.
Although, when comparing with the Imagine Ultimate Experience box set, Yoko's Fly wasn't included there...

I Guess that will be a greatest hits CD I was hoping for a massive release of material like for Johns 70th anniversary
