There have been some great threads covering all of Elvis Presley's recordings, movies, and live shows. I have seen a couple of threads for songs that mention Elvis but this thread covers a bigger target area. This thread is for songs or artists mentioning Elvis by name, alluding to Elvis without mentioning him by name, in Elvis' style of singing, or tied to Elvis Presley in some way without Elvis being on the recording.
This song by Queen is one of my favorites and is a clear nod to Elvis' influence. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen
Chris Isaak- "Beyond The Sun". Some of the songs on this album would probably qualify. Beyond the Sun (album) - Wikipedia
Elvis recorded the song "Danny" for the film King Creole. It wasn't released during Elvis' lifetime. Conway Twitty recorded a much grittier version with the title changed to "Lonely Blue Boy". Funny thing about this one is that it sounds even "more Elvisly" than Elvis' own version. "Lonely Blue Boy" by Conway Twitty
Ronnie McDowell is well known for sounding like Elvis when he sings. I can remember this record being played quite often in 1978 on country stations but I don't see where it charted at the time. I still like this one. "Animal" by Ronnie McDowell
Apologies that I don't have a link to supply, but on the Gary Brooker ensemble recording Within Our House, he covers the song Peace in the Valley, sounding very much like Elvis, whom he acknowledges at the end of the song.
Dread Zeppelin puts me in mind of one of the craziest takes on Elvisdom, Filthy Elvis. This is one of the most tame songs that I find to post. I read that his fans include none other than Lisa Marie Presley. Definitely not for the kids or the easily offended. Please don't click on this if you have issues with very graphic adult language. If not, it's pretty funny and mimics how Elvis could make up naughty lyrics in private with friends and colleagues. "New Poon" by Filthy Elvis
I like this George Jones song. I love that it makes a reference to Elvis via one of millions of items that bear his likeness. "The King Is Gone (And So Are You) " by George Jones
