I'm going to order the Feldman box but I saw a photo of the discs and they look like they might be CDRs, but probably not. Can you confirm from your set? Thanks!
Evan Parker, John Edwards, John Russell - Walthamstow Moon ('61 revisited') (Byrd Out, 2017) **** ~ The Free Jazz Collective
No, they look OK to me. I'm assuming CDRs wouldn't have anything around the middle? These have Monotype Pressing on them which is this company here. short run CD & DVD pressing, replication, vinyl pressing
Doesn't Leo Records have some music with the two of them? Right now this is playing. Really like this one. There's a metallic thud that could almost pass for a pulse that propels it. Nice recording too.
Yup. And to be honest, while the selection from the box is great, I probably won't be coming back to it all that often. So at this point obtaining more music with just the two of them is not a priority.
Yes, here you go. Morton Feldman Piano Sorry for the delay - I was out seeing Apartment House at Cafe Oto playing music about animals...
Are you the guy in Southend? Sorry, if not. I'm in Laindon. I'm new to Apartment House, but like what I hear.
Music For a Free World with Dave Sewelson which features a guest musician that he interviews and then plays live in the studio with, is great radio and essential listening for fans of all things avant music(William Hooker is on this week! ). So when I saw this 1979 session of his in the bins at Downtown Music Gallery in Manhattan a few weeks ago, I grabbed it. And I am not disappointed. Super improv workout with some top notch downtown players. Easy to find online for reasonable prices if you're a fan of this stuff, of which I obviously am. I had no idea they were still extant. I have some 7"s they made in the early-mid 90's that are great fun....I'll have to investigate.
