I was introduced to a Sansui system, saved my paychecks for an AR turntable, Pioneer amp and speakers, and never looked back!

Here is part of my back in the day system...It was late 70's. Speakers were Cerwin Vega's with 15" woofers. I think there were H15's but not sure. Don't remember what the TT was but probably a Technics.

... listened to cassettes with music recorded from radio on a Sony Walkman, because the sound from my integrated Dual TT with speakers was just too bad.

How funny..now the thread takes on a new meaning, what I originally intended.......I see also for some reason my text did not make it. Can't edit my OP, but what I wanted to say was...

Back in the day how record companies took care in offering information about the recording and how to get the best playback. This is type of info appears on many older albums from the 60's, this one is from album by Al Hirt.

    LOL

"This High Fidelity Stereophonic Recording was produced featuring the Frey Stereophonic Curtain of Sound* technique.

When heard on a balanced playback system, the elements or musicians on the recording will be reproduced in the exact locations, directionally, as at the original performance. This original, positive technique to produce a pure, stereophonic effect so that the instruments or elements of a recording are perfectly relocated as to direction of sound is, an Audio Fidelity development and is true stereophonic reproduction."

Then Joe Audiophile from back in the day puts the record on his console stereo.
