I've never been able to appreciate Dark Side of the Moon, so we're even.

For me, yes, I think the album is weak overall. There’s some good stuff on Obscured, but Meddle is a much better album, IMHO.

Agree. I'd go 'Night in the Ruts' to 'Rock in a Hard Place'.

Some would say too similar and that's the biggest beef that people have with it. I'd say that it's true that side one pretty closely mirrors side one of the debut, but it shifts gears on the second side.

Soul Asylum's Let Your Dim Lights Shine was pretty much the beginning of the end of their mass popularity. Seems like they've gotten progressively less popular in the years since that unfairly maligned (IMHO) album.

Nefertiti is the one classic second quintet album that never sat well for me. The title track and Fall are great, but the rest is rather hectic and jarring. But I can understand your ranking as Miles In The Sky is a transitional album.

I am probably not adhering to the rules of this post, but while I really like Stage Fright it fails to approach the overwhelming greatness of The Band.

:realmad:....let me tell you all the ways your opinion is wrong....lol

Nevermind not liking dark side and having it move you and shape your musical landscape is punishment enough. I still hope you eventually "come to the darkside".

The two I agree with the most were the drastic fall offs of Mardi Gras and Hawks and Doves.
Another one not as drastic is Humble Pie from Eat it to Thunderbox. Realizing a lot of people would say the drop to Eat It was just as bad.

Not favorite, but I love all of the concept albums.
If I have a Kinks dropoff, it's Misfits to Low Budget.

I consider Stage Fright about as good as their first 2 albums.

Stage Fright to Cahoots is more of a drop in quality.

More Fun In The Real World to Ain’t Love Grand.

See How We Are was a step up, but they were different by that point........and not much touches their first 4 albums.
