Neither are Charlie Watts/Bill Wyman if you feel like splitting hairs.

The Stones with Wyman/Taylor is about the only 60's lineup where everyone is still alive and active. Really annoying all 5 weren't onstage at the same time in 2012 or 2013.

The White Stripes - never saw them because I was late to realizing how much they were right up my alley. Been to 183 Bob Dylan shows but the two I regret going to were at a casino in Orillia, Ontario on the same weekend The White Stripes played my hometown of London, Ontario (with impromptu gig at Arva Flour Mill - two miles from my childhood home) in 2007. The casino experience was not a satisfactory one and I missed my chance to see a band I was just getting into and would soon love.

plus one of their previous guitarists, preferrably Michael Ward, but he clearly has moved on back in the day when Jake did not want to write together with him.

Well, Edmunds has officially retired from the music business a few years ago. Lowe is still going strong and most likely, Bremner is, too, in Sweden. I have no idea about Williams, though.

Simply Red's most successful lineup might also be worth a try:

    Mick Hucknall
    Fritz McIntyre
    Heitor Pereira
    Gota Yashiki
    Shaun Ward
plus the horn section of Ian Kirkham and Tim Kellett

Saw them at the Greek in L.A. in the early 2000s. It was easily the loudest concert I have ever been to (I guess being in the front row staring at the speakers had something to do with it), how they got that much noise out of one guitar and drums is a mystery. Pretty good show though, got to say hi to Beck as he walked by.

The Wondermints (the only ones not mentioned so far, I think, but maybe after Brian Wilson passes on...)

Barenaked Ladies need Steven Page back in the band, too..

But also for the bands that will never happen:
    XTC
    The Jam
    Jellyfish
    The Smiths

Hearing issues resolved, I'd enjoy an original Huey Lewis & The News lineup. With Chris Hays and Mario Cipollina.

  15. Bahuaus has been mentioned; it’d be nice if they could go out on a better official album than Go Away White. But it seems Pete and Daniel have some sort of weirdness between them, so who knows...

For so long it was the classic Lemmy - Philthy - Eddie Motorhead line up. Then in such a short time all of them passed away.

    So sad.

The other one I wanted happened. The 70s Status Quo line up. One of the best concerts I've ever been too. Magnificent.

We’re fortunate that happened in 2012. Snowball’s chance it ever happens again.

No way to tell your post from the other dozens of times I've read/heard people say the exact same thing. Phil became a flogging horse for those types of statements. That's what "emoji's" are for. ;)
