Seeing as there are almost as many Monkees threads over here as there are Beatles threads, I am really curious....which band do you generally listen to MORE?

This is not a poll to say which band was better, who wrote better music, who played instruments better, etc., etc.

Simply, who do YOU prefer overall? Pretend nobody else is looking.... ;)

I always thought the Monkees were a band manufactured for television whose members could not even play their own instruments? A complete joke, that is.

If so, how do they even belong in the same sentence as the Beatles?

I would vote for the Monkees on behalf of my little sister.

I've never considered The Monkees as a real band. I don't remember the last time that I listened to The Monkees, but I did listen to The Beatles today.

    Silly poll.

We are asked to compare Mercedes vs. Volkswagen here.

I love the Toledo Mud Hens, too, but I don't expect them to dethrone any of the leaders in the American League East anytime soon.

The Beatles will destroy The Monkees, I don't see the point of a poll.

I'm not a big Beatles fan by any stretch of the imagination, but come on: The Beatles.

I'm going to say the Beatles but I will say that I prefer the Monkees movie Head to any of the Beatles' movies.

Same here. I think my Beatles to Monkees listening ratio is around 10,000 to 1.

I have to say on behalf of Micky Dolenz ,he nailed the comparison of the Monkees to the Beatles as " Comparing the Monkees to the Beatles is like comparing Star Trex to NASA " Very well put ...

The Beatles. The Monkees are way too hit or miss.

    However...

    All the King's Horses
    Papa Gene's Blues
    Saturday's Child
What Am I Doing Hanging 'Round?
    Heart and Soul
    Every Step of the Way
    Don't Bring Me Down

all rival the Beatles' best output (for me).
