A friend of my wife has this from her grandparents. She would like it out of her garage. Come and pick it up, it's really beautiful and has that rare "turnover" record platter. PM me. This would make a truly wonderful restoration project.

Put this on VideoKarma, Steve. You'll likely find an easy home for it. It is very high end for the era, has the turnover changer, and a worthwhile restoration for sure.

What a treasure. I'm sure it will find a home with someone who will love and care for it and restore it properly. If only I lived 1,000 miles closer. :(

    I'd say 1952 or so.

I had a Capehart-Farnsworth that I bought at Busvan (in SF) back in the 70's. Had a guy fix it up and used it for years but I was young and moved around a lot in those days. Thing weighed a ton. Finally gave it away but it was an incredible machine.

Late 40's model here, but it has a similar turntable mechanism, which I've never seen before …pretty cool!

Hey, when the Tannoys start cluttering up the garage, let me know. ;)

I don't mind paying, that's why they invented money. Thing of it is, Steve, I know that crating that thing up for shipping would be a gargantuan task to say the least. Based on the radios I've had in the past, I would guesstimate that thing comes in at around 70-80 pounds. I'll browse around for some freight estimates. Thanks!

YIKES, $360.00 is reasonable, but a bit more than I wanted to put into it. Oh, well, it was a thought, anyway. I still have that Majestic in a storage locker in PA, if I ever get around to making the trip up there to retrieve it.

I know the feeling...I listed a gorgeous Grundig console last week for local L.A. pickup...I hate to put this thing on the curb but unless some stalwart out-of-towner is up to heading here with a uHaul I may have to do just that

Trouble is, when it comes to antique radios, everybody wants the radio from The Waltons, but nobody wants these big old dinosaurs. And when somebody has one, they erroneously think it's worth thousands of dollars (though mine probably is). I saw on Ebay a guy in Hickory has one, that's not too far from here, but $1,400 for a Majestic 132 is quite unreasonable.

    Please don't curb it.

If your listing fails to find a new owner, donate it to a charity. They'll eventually find a home for it.

I'd take it if I was local.

It sure is … wish it were mine!!! Oh well, I've got an equally beautiful 1949 Seeburg M100a in my house, which also plays both sides of fifty 78 rpm records and also lets you intermix 10" and 12" sized records! King Oliver's "Too Late" on Bluebird (originally recommended by Steve Hoffman himself) was just recently added, after a long and worthy search!

Not my video, but it's the same jukebox …

Give it to the Habitat store. Or Goodwill, since they are an auction now, they'll get a few good bucks for it. They might even come and get it.

    Damn

Seriously, why wouldn't someone jump at these.I know I'm kind of obsessed with 'made in the usa' products of all kinds.SH will grab my attention every time with a post of old RCA tvs.But classic U.S. made electronics and no one wants it?!!! And that German or is it W.G. Grundig. That would have been in my truck in a heartbeat.
Pretty sure I'd end up on 'Hoarders' if I lived out there.
