You are quoting a post from last August....maybe I'm not the one behind. Or I'm not getting what you're getting at.

This thread is about surround albums, not movies. I am glad that you are still here.

The first two Blood Sweat and Tears albums are a good listen. The first one was mixed with Al Kooper's involvement.

The Quad mix in this set sounds better to me than the remaster or the "original stereo", even downsampled to stereo:

Yeah, that (Say You WIll by Fleetwood Mac) was a real disappointment.

Here's one that I didn't see listed in this thread:

It should - I have the Black Sabbath Dio Years with the MVI disc & my crappy old Sony BDP-S370 does, as does my old Panasonic DMP BD65
Ah hang on, you said multi channel - mySabbath disc ain't multi channel.....
But I do have the Fagan MVI set as well - i'll check it on the Sony for you - no guarantee of yours though....

Ok, so yes, my BDP-S370 does & sounds great. Surely your far better X800 would!

The MVI discs are just DVD's with DD (and in some cases DTS) audio tracks. Any DVD/BluRay player will play them. I suppose that was the reason for their existence. You did not need a special player to get the audio and surround.

Chris DeVoe RIP Vickie Mapes Williams (aka Equipoise)

One rarely mentioned - DVD audio of Todd Rundgren Liars.

Not only is it a really terrific surround mix, it's arguably the best audio quality of anything Todd has ever released.

I'll take this opportunity to repeat my call for a surround music streaming service, delivered via set-top boxes like the Roku, Amazon Firestick and Apple TV. We have all these people with surround sound systems in the form of their home theater systems, most of whom have never heard surround music other than via movie soundtracks.

The first thing i did after getting into music in surround was take out my rear bipole fluance speakers that were on stands.. I had originally intended the 5.1 setup for movies...bought another set of full size speakers floorstanders

VERY BIG Difference w full size / full range speakers for ur surround s with music!

    I don't have rears! I've got surround s / sides!
