Joe Walsh Barnstorm 1972. Sounds great on headphones. I have Japanese press cd from 2000 or so. Very cool sounds.

IIRC, Lou Reed recorded a couple albums binaurally, meaning they were intended to listened to on headphones. But I don't remember which albums!

R.E.M.'s producers did something binaural-adjacent for their second album, RECKONING, which is IMO one of the best sounding rock albums out there.

Suzanne Vega's SOLITUDE STANDING was mastered with headphones in mind. It certainly sounds it. Each song is its own little diorama framing Vega's clear, almost vibrato-less voice. I don't recall hearing the same about its follow-up, DAYS OF OPEN HAND, but it is also a great headphone album.

I think the John Enwistle remix for the soundtrack sounds even better. Thank goodness there's a CD for that . . .

I would honestly say Thriller plays better on headphones than it does on speakers

I'm thinking Talk Talk, Pink Floyd, some Beatles.
I recently got some wireless headphones so have been listening to some stuff on headphones for the first time in many years.
    Any recommendations?

Kate Bush once she started producing her own records. Particularly The Dreaming and Hounds of Love. Lots of cool mixing decisions and sound effects on those albums.

    Hi!

I would suggest this one. It was especially recorded for listening with headphones:

    Dakota - The Nexxt Step

    It sounds great!

    Bye Andrea

I just went back to wires; sounds so much better. I only use wireless for phonecalls now.

This is always my answer for an album that needs to be listened through headphones.

Anything by Uriah Heep! Just kidding. I have loads of old Q8 tapes, and a great surround processor and 4-channel phones. One tape that really stands out for me is A Space In Time by Ten Years After. The Moody Blues is another one, as you can always pick out things that are seemingly hidden down way low in the mix.
