Just asking for a friend who is looking for a component that has a turntable, built in speakers and has bluetooth. Does anyone actually have something like this? And can anyone here recommend a system for my friend to get. I'm assuming a Crosley, but was curious about any ones opinion

Thanks but I get the feeling he’s not looking to spend $3K. Maybe up to $500

40-45 years ago yeah and even then not so great but OK
A budget of $500 could get your friend some very decent tunes with some patient and thoughtful looking on craigslist going vintage/used

There is no good all in one turntable for $500. Practically all of them are poorly built players and won’t provide remotely good sound quality and the built in speakers won’t be good sounding at all, let alone become a factor in accelerating wear and tear on the records.

Either get separate components or forget about getting an all in one.

I didn't title the thread. You did. Checks all the boxes.
The funny thing. This is the cheap one.

$500 isn't going to get you much of a turntable. You also have to add a decent amp, decent speakers. If you go digital, I'm sure there are better options.

I do own a Gramovox Floating Record. But it appears the company went belly up. It's not horrible. I bought for something to put in my guest bedroom. It was Kickstarter product.

There is a new kickstarter product called the HYM Seed. It's a little more than $500 though. It was suggested above.

If it's REALLY a friend, steer them in a different direction.

Please remind him it'll be a game of compromises and won't really hear what vinyl is capable of if he opts to go in that all-in-one direction.

I recommended the Seed to him. It looks pretty good

Just point out that something like the Fluance combo would be a safer bet. The Seed is a little scary in that the company is in Taiwan. Fluance seems to have a rep for pretty good customer service.

(A "splurge" for a table would be...)

Maybe the OP is looking for a novelty product where SQ is not the priority. The Seed HYM looks good and has some good reviews.

Crosley has an all-in-one record player with an Audio-Technica magnetic cartridge (the same one as that $3200 Symbol player linked above!), adjustable counterweight, pitch control, and Bluetooth input:

The main drawback is that it only has a single mono built-in speaker. But a player like the HYM Seed where the built-in stereo speakers are less than a foot apart is practically mono anyway. And you can connect it to external stereo speakers through the headphone jack.

Still junk too. And poorly made, doubt it lasts longer than 2 years babied. $500 barely buys you an adequate new turntable today. $500 bought you something reasonably good in 1970 or so, but even then compromises were necessary. Headphone jacks don't drive speakers which are very good either.

You can get a simple budget system...just separate the speakers from the turntable. Is he scared of hooking up one wire?

Not sure of his exact setup. I just don't think he's interested too much in top sound quality, just something to listen to some vinyl on

$400 for my dad's KLH Turntable with built in FM stereo radio and two nice Speakers. Not sure why I remember the cost because I was like 6 years old, LOL...but I did love that system.
