Roger Moore so brilliant in The Saint was a good Bond. Great James Bond ? That would be Sean Connery imo!!!! W H O > would you say is the best James Bond actor ?
They were all/are very good actors (of course the scripts varied in quality) so impossible for me to choose. But I will say I wish George Lazenby had one or two more Bond roles as I thought he was really good in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
At the end of OHMSS the credits read James Bond will return in Diamonds Are Forever. Missed opportunity for the Laz
None beat Connery's, panther like predatory coolness and rugged angular looks that makes everything he does on screen credible to what happens in the story. All the rest are too GQ or too short or both.
Sean Connery and Roger Moore are my favourites! George Lazenby is arguably the most underrated Bond actor.
Think.. The only Christmas James Bond set in December what with Xmas trees in the film. Released in the UK December 1969. You Only Live Twice came out 1967, OHMSS started filming 1968.
as an actor, Sean was great in nearly everything he was in As Bond, its him til Diamonds... Pierce never let the mask fall, even in Die...
Connery's the best. Btw, Pauline Kael called On Her Majesty's Secret Service the most dazzling Bond movie up to that time, despite George Lazenby being a "dull fellow."
I'd say that OHMSS represented a missed opportunity for Sean Connery—it that had been his final film, he could have left the role with the perfect mic drop.
Apples and oranges in it. But OHMSS is brilliant. Now just imagine it with the help of AI/AR/magic and Connery.
