Oh, that's not gonna happen. I believe somebody announced a 10-hour mini series on Lennon's life, it went forward for a few months, then abruptly stopped. No clue what happened.

focusing on John's music more than his bad traits...possibly using some of his autobiography as well...

I dunno. There's all kinds of movies that get announced and then never get made.

Duane Allman would be a perfect choice for a biopic. Legendary guitarist, incredibly influential style and creds. Duane's short career and passing while his star was on the rise would make a great film.

Hollywood would force them to re-write the script. This guy was superhuman. Two DCMs and it would've been three if he hadn't turn one down!?!

:agree: Totally agree about Orson Welles, and I'd cast Jack Black as the one to play him:

In the right director's hands, and of course with adequate funding, my belief is something like this could really work. Here's to hoping! :)

  11. Ted Williams - the greatest hitter who ever lived, served his country in two wars, was a combat fighter pilot in Korea, a world class fisherman, etc. One of his biographers (Leigh Montville?) said Williams was the man John Wayne pretended o be in his films.

Nobody ever talks about Sam Warner, the Warner Brother who got a bad toothache during the production of The Jazz Singer, but refused to go to the dentist. So the tooth got infected, it got worse, he got sicker, but he worked tirelessly for weeks to make sure their first big sound release was successful. The infection spread... and he died in August 1927, the day before the movie had a spectacular premiere, saved the studio, and changed Hollywood.

Whenever a friend of mine has a tooth problem, I warn them: "Hey! Don't wind up like Sam Warner!"

Jack Black almost ruined "King Kong" (2005 version) for me... Luckily everyone else in the film was good, so that made up for his mediocrity.

I think it could be done without making cartoon characters out of Nixon or Hiss.

Definitely the 'wrong' directors for those particular projects...IMO.
