  2. Got a copy of the 85 US CD, short Heart Of Glass. Sounds terrible, no high end, very muddy, and mastered astonishingly quiet (though this was the norm of early CDs)

    The DCC kills the other two editions I've heard.

Sorry to say, but I don't really have hundreds of dollars to blow on a single CD at this point, I bought a copy of the 2001 remaster, arrived in completely horrid condition, shattered jewel case, torn art, crack in disc leaving half of Track 12 and all of the bonus tracks unreadable. Still, I'm able to rip most of the main album fine, and even after amplifying the 85 FLAC files, this new remaster blows it out the water, even if it has seen a limiting job. I'm going to return this broken one, and order another copy of the 2001 one.

    I think the recording is a little muddy-sounding. Steve disagrees. :)
