This new track is confirmed to be longer than I Contain Multitudes but shorter than Murder Most Foul.

 

What's it called?

New single from same sessions as MMF/ICM recorded "a while back"?

If so, now don't think part of a new album. Hope I'm wrong.

 

IIRC, Don Was hinted when he was on Marc Maron's podcast last year that he'd done some recent-ish work with Dylan, but wasn't really allowed to talk about it. Could that be what this stuff is? It all sounds sort of Don-ish.

 

3 songs released every 3 weeks like clockwork, after credible-ish rumors of a new album dating back to months, have dissuaded you from expecting a new album? sir...

 

So this is what Bob Dylan does when he can’t tour? Been wondering how he’d pass his free time since about 1986.

 

That podcast was in 2018 and as far as I know, Don Was referred to work he did on "He's Funny That Way" from "Universal Love - Wedding Songs Reimagined". I was told that Al Schmitt engineered "He's Funny That Way", but maybe Don Was reworked/remixed/overdubbed the track.

 

The image that Bob's using seems to touch upon many issues past and present.

Or perhaps I'm reading too much into it.

For what it's worth:

Very few images other than Albums and CD booklets are rendered as perfect squares these days.
By my measurements, the Twitter image is 99.99% square.

The book cover blurb, "Death about town. It stalks rich and poor alike . . ." takes me back to, "Cold blooded killer, stalking the town" from "It's All Good" (the title of which evokes Genesis). Damn, here's me analyzing the song and it hasn't even been released yet. I need help. (But at least it's a good excuse to spin "It's All Good" while waiting).

only small concern i have with the image tho-- is he an anti-vaxxer or something? hope not...
