So, has anyone watched this? OMG, what a snoozer . It stars Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn as two police officers who get involved into the criminal underworld due to financial reasons after being suspended for a bust (Jennifer Carpenter and Don Johnson from Brawl also make appearances).

The movie is two and half hours long and is crammed full of ridiculous dialogue and detail that goes into annoyingly grating minutiae. It seems S. Craig Zahler wants to be the next Quentin Tarantino with the dialogue thing, but he doesn't have the chops to pull it off (despite him writing several novels). This movie drags and I mean hard. I fought through it, but I do not recommend it in the least (and I liked Brawl and loved Bone Tomahawk).

I’ve borrowed Dragged Across Concrete from the library twice and can’t make it through 30min before turning it off.

You should be awarded some kind of metal for grinding through that...…..45 minutes was all I could take. And I love Vince Vaughn.

I watched Dragged Across Concrete (2018) a few days ago. I borderline loved it and plan to watch it again soon. It was consistently interesting and enjoyable so it more than justifies its long running time and languid pacing. Very, very strong film. It was brilliant. It feels like the work of a novelist rather than a scriptwriter.

Also note that I'm not usually a fan of slow movies. There is nothing more annoying than a film that is stretching out a small amount of content over a long period of time via the art of BEING VERY ****ING SLOW. Just get on with it. I never once felt Dragged Across Concrete was taking any liberties with my time and attention.

Next time I’ll try 5 sets of 30 minutes over 5 days until done.

Picked up blu ray the other day. Was initially put of with dismissive reviews. Very impressed.

One of the advantages of watching on paid media + nothing else to watch ie no HBO/ Netflix etc. reminded my of a seventies film ...score included. Again I was expecting it to be sub par, pleasantly surprised.
