I bought the first Philly show (can't remember the date) and it's a great show with an amazing set list. J
imo, you can't go wrong with any of the shows from that leg. Both in terms of performance (band on form, great set lists, long shows..) and sound quality on the releases.
I went to the second Philly show (tickets in the pit) and it was awesome. The first show went 15-20 minutes longer (4 hrs. and 5 minutes or something like that), so if I buy one it may be that--also since I haven't heard it yet.... I also plan to buy the earlier-in-2016 Philly show where he played all of The River, in the arena leg of the tour. I remember buying the tickets for the September show thinking he was still doing that and being disappointed when I found out in advance he wasn't. But there was no disappointment in the show itself!
The ENTIRE River tour of just a few years ago is ALL great. If you're having trouble picking do the draw out of a hat method - that will help. I - saw him on that tour. Saw the tour, got some recordings. How's that for calling me a fan?
I like the way he stops the band from coming in when they expected to. He knew he had a good thing going. One of his best performances of the song - a rarity for a song written 30+ years prior.
I’m not much of an enthusiast of the latter-day shows, but Springsteen delivered the goods during that concert. Highly recommended.
I agree. That last US leg of the 2016 tour is pretty much the only ESB from the reunion era I return too.
Assuming there will be a Black Friday sale which shows do people recommend that have been released since the last BF sale?
I'll hang back until the Thanksgiving weekend just to be on the safe side. This looks like it's just Bruce but the Black Friday event last year was all of nugs.net as I got some half price Pearl Jam last time
from the e-mail that I got: SAVE BIG ON LIVE BRUCE Starting now on nugs.net, you can save 25% off all live Bruce Springsteen CDs & Downloads from 1975-2013. This offer ends Monday, December 2, at 11:59 PM PT. You can stream all your Live Bruce Springsteen purchases in the nugs.net app.
I'm curious about how the post-2013 shows are selling. I suspect that the Black Friday sale will cover 2014-16 at a larger discount.
