Carefully inspect new vinyl purchases....

I have purchased several new records that are fine. However, recently I received from Amazon , Jethro Tull The String Quartets, with a fair size scratch. The media ticked annoyingly for several minutes. I contacted Amazon and they sent through a new copy. The second copy arrived with the vinyl so scarred on the entry rings that it could not be played. Pieces of vinyl were literally protruding from surface.

 

Always. I had three huge orders from Music Matters, Music Direct and Acoustic Sounds over the holidays. I just finished all of the sides and will be emailing about a few bad sides today. The most aggravating one was scuffed up and noisy sides 5 and 6 in an $89 MFSL Billy Joel box set. No label is immune to issues, but some pressing plants are better at QC than others.

If you bought anything from Amazon or third party sellers on Amazon you have until 1/31/19 to make a return. This is on all sales made 11/1/18 through 1/1/19. Normally they have a 30 day return period.
