    Hello,

Looking for a new CDP. $1000 max. Needs to have XLR outputs. Rest of system is Zu Omen DW and Pass INT-30. Thank you.

As above, I have a 200SB ..... I don't use the balanced outs, but I'm extremely happy with it as a player.

Tell us. Is it a fast loader ? How does it handle scratched CDs ? home-burned DVDs ? How long have you owned it ? Any problems ?

Does the front load scratch CDs? Does this need to be mounted in a rack?

    What about a Rotel RCD-1572?

I haven't had a problem with any CD so far, be they scratched or a burned CD-r. As far as loading speed, it's fine, quiet in operation. The player has a nice chunky feel to it as well, like an older style player. I've no idea what DAC chip is inside it but it's sounds quite good, though I run coax to my Bifrost which I prefer. TEAC designed a new transport for the 200 series as well.

I understand the OP is looking to spend a little more though, but as a bang for your buck player at a reasonable price, I'm happy.

Any CD player from a thrift store with an optical / COAX out, and a good quality DAC works for me!
