I meant 1935. Sorry! I've just had a busy weekend. There was a Xmas tree festival at work on Saturday & I got to be Mrs. Claus for the day & I've got a staff role on another forum which is rather time-consuming. I'm afraid I can't help you there as I don't know. I saw it in a bargain basket in a shop at 2 for £1 & we hadn't got that version so we bought it to see what it was like. It's good but it's much shorter than the other ones.
From my limited knowledge, haven't watched it yet, it is similar to A Christmas Story. It is set in 1988 and instead of wanting a BB gun, all he wants for Christmas is a Nintendo.
My wife and I watched it together after I had been watching Get Back all weekend. She looked right at me every time there was a joke about the one sister obsessed with the Beatles.
yea, that was the best part...everything she mentioned was BEATLES related...indeed. My wife just chuckled with love...: )
there's a heavily edited version and a full version...I have a crummy PD DVD but it's the FULL version...big difference.
A few years ago I bought (Bing's -let's face it, it's mainly Bing)Holiday Inn on bluray and was surprised to find myself liking the colour version more than the original-get the stake and wood ready! One treat that I am saving for myself on Christmas day is Young Pioneers' Christmas. (Yes, I Know it is a rose-coloured glasses view of American pioneer realities). Also a few years ago I was lucky enough to find it on dvd. I remember the tv broadcast of it in my teens-I had a severe crush on Linda Purl at the time.
Hmm a bell a book and maybe a candle? Bell Book and Candle! Not exactly a conventional Christmas Day movie but definitely a Christmas season movie. I have the DVD . While there is a bluray I've heard some negative comments about the transfer so I haven't gotten one. Does anyone have the bluray?
what are you replying to? I replied to this: There's that Lifetime movie where a woman inherits a bakery that only makes Christmas cookies, then she meets a widower who owns a bookshop that specializes in holiday books. Or maybe it was the other way around. . you are referring to Bell Book and Candle... that is not a LIFETIME MOVIE...
Don't be so literal haha. I was just referring to the words bell and book then adding a candle which is a Christmas season movie I play most Christmas seasons. But I seldom see it mentioned in a Christmas movie context. Is the thread only Lifetime movies?
Not sure about the releases. Since it was a tv movie and I probably originally saw it in B&W and with commercials, I'm glad to be able to watch it on dvd. Optical media.
