You're so close with that description. White label was their cheap re-issue series back then.A number are listed in my 'old' Penguin guides from the late 80's and early 90's.

I have Jochum's other set on EMI. I wonder how the 2 versions compare?

I still have a near mint (if such a thing can exist; actually it was played twice or so) 20-year old 3 chrome cassette set on Eterna of Jochum's Bruckner 4/7 with Staatskapelle Dresden. They are probably the same recordings as yours, since the German-only booklet says "in cooperation with EMI". They were my first Bruckner recordings. I need to switch on my Pioneer deck and receiver and revisit them.

Digitize the tapes. I have used an outboard USB device like this to digitize some concerts by Hogwood and Harnoncourt I taped on open-reels twenty-some years ago. The results were quite good.

I think I may do this one day using my semi-pro outboard firewire audio card. I have about few dozens of those chrome cassettes. It's too bad that my Pioneer deck doesn't have a hole for head azimuth adjustment (and it has 3 heads, so adjustment even in theory should be somewhat cumbersome). I also have a JVC boom box and a Panasonic walkman that allow such adjusting, but their class is a few leagues lower.

I think Gunter Wand recorded 4 Bruckner Symphonies live with the BPO. Are the other three worth having?

Yes but those live recordings are special. He knew how to bring the best qualities of Bruckner's music out.

I have a disc worth from the above on the Bolero Galleria cd. I like the performances as much as I prefer the Cluytens set on EMI.

Have yet to hear the 4th and 9th from this series of recordings. The Wand/Berlin 7th has unusally fine-grained playing and excellent sonics. I've been listening to Bruckner a lot as of late, I'd say the Wand/Berlin performance of Bruckner's 7th is at or near the top of my list with Jochum/Berlin not far behind. As good as Furtwängler's recordings of the 7th are, sonically none of them come close to Wand or Jochum.

Do you feel the Wand/BPO recordings are generally better than this earlier set, which I also have?

How do these 2 Bruckner 9th's differ? One says Live Recording on the cover while the other does not. Did Wand make 2 separate recordings of this work with the BPO?
