What pains you specifically about "Ms Turner" (I'm assuming you mean Tina...) working a mic? Or did you mean to use a word other than twinge?

 

When they were on tour with Ringo's All-Star Band, Todd Rundgren used to pull practical jokes on Burton Cummings who would lick the microphone stand. Todd would put lithium grease or hot sauce or something else on the stand.
