Connect Cables and Speaker Cables- Same Brand and Model?

The "industry" (or at least many audio reviews) seem to speak in terms of a given brand and model of interconnect cable and speaker cable.
The reviews often describe the cable's sound quality as if they are one and the same- Brand X "Gold Series" cables, rather than making a distinction between the performance of the interconnect and speaker cable.
Since I have found that a given interconnect cable can sound different when used between different sources, I find it difficult to imagine that speaker cable will have the same "sound" as the interconnect.
The electrical requirements for interconnects is very different than speaker cables, for example.
It seems like an industry simplification.
Do interconnects and speaker cables of the same brand and model tend to give the same sonic performance?
