Widespread Panic covers some Beatles songs. Like most bands WSP has covered in my opinion John Bell sounds better then whoever normally sang the song.
Neil Young doing A Day In The Life—haven’t heard it but it sounds grand. Just struck me where something like that song or Strawberry Fields must have inspired Young’s own version back then of those very British songs, but written by a Canadian through the perspective of an American as on “Broken Arrow”. One I didn’t see listed is the 90’s/00’s heavy rock group Helmet’s surprisingly faithful version of “And Your Bird Can Sing”:
have Crippled Inside Sun King Yer Blues The Ballad Of John And Yoko Come Together Run For Your Life Why Don't We Do It In The Road Across The Universe are there more?
Something about this cover is particularly vile. I don't think any of them really understood the chord progressions, or the melody...
What can I tell you? It was on the Bandcamp page when I bought the album on 5 October but it's not now. It was listed only as Jerry Temporary. I added what it parodied in parenthesis. Album track listings are revised all the time after the fact. For example, at any given time, there are only 185 different recordings on The Beatles Complete On Ukulele All Of The Songs » The Beatles Complete On Ukulele but a total of 229 recordings have been on the album at various times, with many being replaced. To mention just one of those, The Adidas Kebabs' version of Your Mother Should Know (no listed as track 27) is a replacement for an earlier recording credited to The Alan Cohen Experience which, at 3m 45s, was much longer than The Adidas Kebabs 2m 05s recording - and better.
Listen to it. The first 47 seconds are Sun King, which then morphs into Don't Let Me Down. The question is, do you prefer someone who cares about it to give the full and correct listing, or do you want to go with a wrong (potentially accidentally so) listing?
I think of the thread as a self-contained home for information on Beatles covers, not only to feed information for your website, so forgive me.
Sorry, dunno why I substitued Jazz for Guitar...but at least the artwork was correct and led you to the right album
