I see McCartney 111 reimagined LP is finally coming down in price, couldn't have sold that much at the obnoxious price that was being asked for it.
I've watched it got from nearly £40 to £25. It still has a fair way to drop before I pick it up and even then I am likely to need to be inebriated whilst also being in my local HMV, which is unlikely.
Yeah, I did not know there was such a thing, but ... it may very well be one of the most melodious and beautiful radio jingles I have ever heard. Partially reminds me of another McCartney song ... but just cannot find the connection in my head right now. And what a great idea, to record playing an unknown tape ... this podcast in particular is a treasure. I will become a member, this is worth getting in high res. Posting the link again, it's worth not getting lost in the depth of this thread. Ok, it will. Consequences 10cc podcast 76 - The Great Alcester Bake-off #3: Hello from Mike, Paul and Linda I have now even uncovered the song it reminds me of: I'll give you a ring. I'm not sure if this is "news' but there is a great Macca anecdote in the ICON: Music Through The Lens doc. About a contentious Macca photoshoot, in the early aughts that is quite illuminating, and momentarily tense and stressful.
Here is the track separated at least on soundcloud with a photo of the tape box as the 'album cover'. Paul & Linda - Hello Piccadilly Jingle (Strawberry)

They should sell a digital version for the same price that includes the lyrics to every song he has ever written. Or even better yet just include it as a free bonus with the physical copy. Let me put it this way. I probably won't buy this, but if it was released the way I've said above, I would definitely be getting a copy.
I assume someone has posted the playlist of all of these tracks that Paul's team put on Spotify? If not... THE LYRICS: 1956 - the Present a playlist on Spotify Paul McCartney recounts his life and art through the prism of 154 songs from all stages of his career, listen to most of the tracks featured in this extraordinary book published this November.
wait, wait...wait! Does this mean that a NEW "McGear" re-issue needs to be made??? edit: Oh, I see it's just effects....
Hearing Macca in that clip - really brings the sad news home. R. I. P. - Rock In Peace, Charlie Watts.
That is sad. I do not really like The Stones, their attitude, but I have seen them in 1995 and enjoyed it quite a bit. And I thought Charly was especially noticable. Looking so serious and somewhat out of place visually, but being the rhythmic backbone and rock steady center point without ever pushing himself to the foreground beyond the requirement of the song. Sounds familiar? I had not noticed him at all before, but he really was shining during that gig. At the same time it was my first really huge show. While I did enjoy McCartney at almost the same location (a few uears later inside the newly built stadium), it also showed me that these huge stadium shows do have their own language and limits. I have enjoyed a local artist (Jens-Paul Wollenberg) way more, and my beloved and me were the only paying guests. But Charly ... rocked. He was cool because he made the impression he was not, with everyone else going out of their way to be fancy, sexy and cool. He just did not care. He was ... just there, only playing his drums and I liked it. The Rolling Stones: Sticky Fingers Live at the Fonda Theatre 2015 - Programm in voller Länge | ARTE Concert
I don’t know how the book is laid out, it appears that it’s in alphabetical order, but if it was going to simulate a diary or autobiography, I’m sorry the work wasn’t done in chronological order.
Been listening to the "H" section, what a crazy fun ride! Why is Hard Days Night even on here as I've always thought of it as John's? “A Hard Day’s Night” “Helen Wheels” “Helter Skelter” “Her Majesty” “Here, There and Everywhere” “Here Today” “Hey Jude” “Hi, Hi, Hi” “Honey Pie” “Hope of Deliverance” “House of Wax” What a sublime juxtaposition of songs! "H" is for happy happenstance!
Maybe it's pivotal to a particular memory? Or Paul inspired John in some way? Or the song inspired Paul? Be interesting to find out, that's for sure. That's a good idea you've got there, listening to songs by letter. Think I'll do the same. Did give the utterly brilliant House of Wax a listen this morning.
“So, y’know, ‘sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me’ was just what John and I were trying to get at in We Can Work It Out...”
