It is! I bought the CD: it comes with a nice booklet containing an essay by Jakob Dylan, several pictures and the lyrics of every song. I suppose the double LP set is very nicely packaged as well.

Sadly, if Dark Horse do now ever get around to reissuing the Splinter albums it will come too late for Bill Elliott who passed away today.
That is very sad news. Such a shame. I did buy the Splinter albums on CD a few years ago. Can't recall offhand which label it was on, but I hope he benefitted in some way from my purchases.
I was in touch with Bill when the UK releases were announced and he was entirely unaware of them. They seem to have been unlicensed and disappeared pretty quickly, though the same label has subsequently put out some archive material with the co-operation of the band so I assume some arrangement was agreed.
Sad news. Coincidentally, I received my cd reissue copy of 'Streets at Night' from cdJapan this very morning. I shall now play it to honour Bill's memory.
I think I bought about 5 CDs and it did appear that there was some involvement. I will have find these out for another listen but if they were unlicensed then it leaves a bad taste in the mouth given the circumstances.
It was the Dark Horse albums that were unlicensed. The Streets At Night and Splinter albums seems to have been ok, as was last years Never Went Back archive release and the forthcoming Live In England album
This is very sad news! We've been waiting for Dark Horse to re-issue the Splinter albums officially. The past versions on CD are needle drops and the bonus tracks taken from 45's sound ok at best. I would be very surprised if they (the band ) had anything to do with those releases and would be even shocked if they received a penny for any of those releases. It makes no sense at all that those were legit releases since we had news when the Dark Horse label was re-launched that they would include the Splinter catalog.
wondered if that would be included. the one and only time i got to sing at a piano with harrison at the record plant LA while foster tickled the ivories ridiculous cover of james taylor's "honey don't leave LA". certainly brought in by kootch.
It was written by Kortchmar and originally released by Attitudes in 1976. Taylor is the one who covered it in 1978. Mark
ha! i got it back ***wards! thanks. still a dopey song if my memory serves. something about " don't leave la - they don't know nothin' down in st tropez" that said. i knew kootch pretty well when i was a kid. monster player and all around nice guy.
The revived Dark Horse label did release a compilation in 2018 titled 'Best of Attitudes'. It was digital only but at least it was something. Surely they could at very least release a 'Best of Splinter' album? And while they're about it perhaps they could make both albums (Attitudes and Splinter) available physically (cd and vinyl). I'm sure they'd sell just as well as an album of Joe Strummer leftovers.
RIP Bill Elliott...man this is terribly sad to hear and read this week on Dark Horse records Thread. Thank you very much Bill for all of your musical gifts!
