Dated Album Covers

Not dated. Holds up surprising well for an amusement that peaked in the late 70's. It's an interesting cover. I like the design and colors.

 

This abomination of a cover reminds me of the movie Wargames. Since Wargames seems massively dated, so does this album cover. Peter Frampton is prone to release terrible covers. I'm In You of course, leads the way, but even Frampton Comes Alive is terrible as well.

 

I got it...but not immediately!

 

Its design is certainly a talking point one that maybe deserves its own thread.

She looks terribly awkward, as though she has never been on roller skates before, and is terrified of having a pratfall.
Actually I bet that's exactly what she was thinking.

I wouldn't mnd that cover so much if it were an artist I didn't know, but I dislike it because it's so much at odds with the image Linda presents on most of her covers, on which she looks very ladylike.

 

Quite a collection!..Imagine being the wife of the guy who brought those home!

 

I think the cover is more "quaint" and "old fashioned". It kind of reminds me of the old Currier and Ives artwork.

 

Where in the hell do you people find these crazy, bizarre records?

 

I actually have two of the five for the music. I have also heard the others in part or in full, and can well imagine someone wanting them for that reason in the 21st century.

Just go to Google Images or Yahoo! Images and do a search for "funny album covers" (or whatever). You'll find all sorts of good stuff. Some of 'em are gonna be fake, but WGAF?

 

Holograf's album Stai In Pola Mea. What were they thinking?

Wow. I've never heard of this guy. At first I thought you meant Eric Clapton. The name is so close that I wonder how many people get them confused.

 

Gotta say, dated does not mean bad, to me. Lots of dated covers are great. Some in here seem to think dated means poor. Just cause it’s dated it can still be great.

 

Yes. Most Blue Note covers qualify.
