I was talking about previously released remixes (Dance 2) but yeah, the first box without a full album remix too.
Looks like the official store have already sold out of all 100 copies they produced and they're now on eBay.
Will we all be able to wait with the new thread until the full tracklisting and details are published?
"technical notes about the albums from producers/engineers Brian Eno, Nile Rodgers, Reeves Gabrels and Mark Plati as well as a new an interview with THE BUDDHA OF SUBURBIA collaborator Erdal Kizilcay." That's truly surprising considering Erdal's interview with SDE a few years ago...
Re: Re: Call Sifting through the Bowie Discography for the most likely suspects (7" singles As and Bs, unique b-sides and soundtrack / comp contributions), I end up with 45 potential tracks, which is six too many - and I've probably overlooked some likely inclusions. So tear this apart: 1. Real Cool World (Album Edit) 2. Real Cool World (Instrumental) 3. Jump They Say (Radio Edit) 4. Pallas Athena (Don’t Stop Praying Mix) 5. Black Tie White Noise (Radio Edit) 6. You’ve Been Around (Dangers Remix) 7. Buddha of Suburbia (Single Mix) 8. The Heart’s Filthy Lesson (Radio Edit) 9. I Am with Name (Single Version) 10. Nothing to Be Desired 11. Strangers When We Meet (Edit) 12. The Man Who Sold the World (Live) 13. Get Real 14. Hallo Spaceboy (Pet Shop Boys Remix) 15. Under Pressure (Live) 16. Moonage Daydream (Live) 17. I’m Afraid of Americans (Soundtrack Version) 18. Telling Lies (Feelgood Mix) 19. Little Wonder (Edit) 20. Dead Man Walking (Edit) 21. Seven Years in Tibet (Edit) 22. Seven Years in Tibet (Mandarin Version) 23. Pallas Athena (Live) 24. V-2 Schneider (Live) 25. I’m Afraid of Americans (V1) 26. Planet of Dreams 27. I Can’t Read (Long Version) 28. A Foggy Day (In London Town) 29. Thursday's Child (Edit) 30. We All Go Through 31. No One Calls 32. We Shall Go to Town 33. 1917 34. The Pretty Things Are Going to Hell (Edit) 35. Survive (Marius de Vries Mix) 36. The Pretty Things Are Going to Hell (Soundtrack Version) 37. Survive (Live) 38. Thursday’s Child (Live) 39. Seven (Live) 40. Seven (Marius de Vries Mix) 41. Seven (Original Demo) 42. Something in the Air (Live) 43. The Pretty Things Are Going to Hell (Live) 44. Nature Boy 45. Pictures of Lily
I remember that, but assumed it was some mock-up they made at the time and... well, that's probably why it got used here. I guess it's better than The Next Day cover, anyway.
I am happy with the content of the box, the first one I will buy. I wish Buddha was the original cover and not the second cover. And Toy is soooooo ugly, I know you posted it @Frankie_Collector and it is the one they had in mind back them, but stil!!!
Great find! First things I noted is that there is no Hours remix which a lot of people-including me-were convinced there was going to be. Also if the Toy box is a real thing then most people thought the BBC show would be part of it.Can’t see that happening now particularly if the Toy album is not exclusive to this box.
Not at all. This one is awful, but as long as it is historically accurate, I’m OK with it. A bit of a disappointment that nothing unexpected is included, even if it is an unnecessary 2021 remix of any studio album. I would have loved as well a full VH1 Storytellers with restored track list.
Perhaps I’m not in on the joke, but the cover for Toy is atrocious. What were they thinking? Most of the bootleg covers look better.
I already own ... (checks notes) ... 0% of this on vinyl so yeah, guess I'm definitely buying the 14 (15?) LP version
I am happy, hope you are happy too? Sure, No Leon material but I never believed that this will be included. My main draw was and will be to finally have all Bowie Albums on Vinyl and I absolutely adore Outside & Earthling. It was clear to me since they announced the time span last year that Toy will be included, so thats a very nice addition. BBC2000 in its full length ( but I doubt that the songs with Davids voice problems are included) is a very welcomed bonus and I am always up for more Bowie live. Finally the fully packed ReCall 5 with its enormous 3 CDs (Which could mean 5 Lps!) is going to be a treat to me. Yeah, I am happy.
Nor hours remix. Nothing really exciting box exclusive bait. The option they took to do nothing extra beyond the bbc and recall is surprising and disappointing. As such seems appropriate to mention for all our official complaining needs: David Bowie - Brilliant Adventure (1992-2001) [Box set #5] Official Complaining Thread
Feeling both underwhelmed and a little bit relieved to be saving some $$ this November. Owning the 2 disc BTWN, Grey Bowie boxset of 2 disc sets, and most of the BBC Concert from the Ziggy special edition, I see no reason to buy this. Might pick up a stray digital track from ReCall 5 (depending on yet revealed track listing) After deciding I didn’t really “need” the 80s set before it was announced, The marketing team got me with Loving the Alien. I loved the cover and was intrigued by NLMD 2018, but they’re leaving me cold on this one.
