The muddyness is part of the charm to TMWSTW,it can only be a bad thing if it's too polished.

Hmmm...no outtakes, demos, rehearsals, radio sessions? I thought the fan community was hoping for something in line with the recent Conversation Piece box....

Yes Conversation Piece was most and foremost a very large book (with cds). And an excellent book !
But there is no book here. Just a new mix.

What's with all the disappointment with this release??

I mean, after reading all the threads about time running out for a 90's box release, : ?
SURE!, I'd rather have this "METROBOLIST" in a box set with extras, but OH WELL.
Still enjoying these RSD releases (CNB, IOD '74)...
All things considered, It's been a nice batch of BOWIE this year!!

I guess that saying is true...

This is following the mold of the Space Oddity/David Bowie album 50th anniversary remix, which was one part of that box set. Doesn't look like there will be a multichannel component, however (Oddity eventually got a 360 Audio release)
    Sorry, what?

I think many were hoping for some demos, rehearsals or radio sessions if there are no outtakes. This really is taking the mickey. And Visconti is clearly not going to be happy until he has remixed every thing he ever produced or had a hand in. Was he really that incompetent first time around?

Keep your eyes peeled for a copyright dump at the end of this year to YouTube. Parlophone will want to 'protect' their rights to do an expanded Sessions/demos box set after COVID calms down a bit more...

I think this is just the start of the campaign. I’m sure at the very least we’ll also get the BBC sessions.

Eventually, we’ll also probably get a dress cover picture disc

Yeah, it’s nice because you don’t see it too often.

I hope to get a white one, I think gold is a bit overused these days.

This release is a must for me as it falls into my fav Bowie period but I want a black vinyl copy. Don't care too much for coloured vinyl unless there is no alternative.

Goodness me. Too much unnecessary product. It's good for completist fans with deep pockets but all these picture discs and coloured vinyl without new material I think is getting ridiculous. There seems to be something almost every week!

So last year’s wonderful, immersive, Space Oddity-era box was a one-off, rather than the start of a series? How many times has a Bowie reissue concept been started and then not seen through to the conclusion? I think back to the 2000-era expanded editions which began, bizarrely, with Ziggy. Two albums later, with Diamond Dogs, the packaging was changed. Then the concept was changed to CD/DVD for Young Americans, then changed again for the Station to Station box. It’s a bit messy.

I have this expanded edition of Diamond Dogs and love it. Don't know how the Ziggy package is, but I think they did a great job with Diamond Dogs: packaging, bonus tracks, everything. Wish every Bowie album had an expanded edition like this.

I could be wrong but I am not convinced that there won't be Conversation Piece style boxset at some point.

Those of you who were annoyed that they made you buy the 1968-69 demos before making them available in a boxset, can I suggest caution before purchasing this single disc release?
